The real, the elemental and the “star dust”

Abstract

The paper explores issues that arise at the interface of different disciplines and practices, namely philosophy, natural science and art. Each of them intends to define ways of inter­action between the human and the milieu which is constantly and quickly changing. This interdisciplinary dialogue, on the one hand, demonstrates the impossibility to formulate the truths applicable to all epochs and cultures; on the other hand, it helps to explore the modes in which the organic and inorganic, the human and non-human coexist. This dialogue maintains not only the similarities, but also the differences and exclusions operated in each discipline revealing the limits of each discipline as well as the notions that are produced by each discipline and the conditions under which these notions from one discipline might be transmitted to another. Such transitions between different approaches and different disciplines make the whole picture more distinct. Numerous examples from contemporary art&science practices make it even more clear.
