Nowadays China and Russia are going through a period of cultural change: both countries are actively exploring the possibility of independent cultural models corresponding to their national spiritual characteristics and modern ways of development. However, if we overemphasize the particular and ignore the universal, we may get bogged down in the quagmire of cultural nationalism. How to find a balance between universality and peculiarity – that is a common problem facing the intellectual circles of China and Russia, as well as the historical mission of modern philosophers. In this context, the consideration of the current situation and the main characteristics of philosophical research in contemporary China has important theoretical value and practical significance. This article attempts to use digital methods in humanitarian research to analyze objective data, as well as the results of “subjective” research in order to describe the current situation of philosophical research in contemporary China, to summarize their main characteristics, as well as to problematize the ratio of universal and special in the context of the development of philosophical knowledge.
